Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data KingTamil Chat ("we", "us") collects when you use the service, why, and how long we keep it. We try to keep this short and clear.

1. What data we collect

• Registered accounts: username, display name, email, hashed password (we never see your real password), language preference, and an optional profile picture.
• Guest accounts: only the nickname you choose. Guest accounts are temporary.
• Google sign-in (if you use it): your Google email, name, and Google ID. We do not store any other Google data.
• Chat content: public room messages, private 1-to-1 messages, and uploaded files (photos / documents / voice notes).
• Technical data: your IP address, browser/device info (user-agent), the times you log in. We use this for security, spam protection, and rate-limiting.
• Cookies / localStorage: a single login session cookie, your theme (light/dark), and a record that you've seen the install prompt. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

2. Why we use it

• To deliver your messages to the right people.
• To keep your account secure (password hashing, login rate-limit, ban evasion detection).
• To moderate the service: detect abuse, scams, spam.
• To improve and fix the platform.
• To comply with French and EU law if we are legally required to share data with law enforcement.

3. How long we keep it

• Uploaded files (photos, documents, voice notes): auto-deleted after 7 days.
• Public room messages: kept up to 1000 most recent messages per room (default; admin may change). Older messages are auto-deleted.
• Private messages: kept up to 1000 most recent messages per conversation. Older messages are auto-deleted.
• Guest accounts: deleted after 2 hours of inactivity.
• Login session records: deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
• Banned-user IPs: kept as long as the ban is active, for ban evasion prevention.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We will only share data when legally required by court order or to comply with French or European law.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• File a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

6. Children

This service is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using KingTamil Chat, please report it to eelanet@gmail.com and we will close the account.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords (bcrypt), CSRF tokens, prepared SQL statements, strict file-upload validation, and rate-limited login. No system is 100% secure; if we detect a breach affecting your account we will inform you.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
